HEAD OF SCHOOL PRIMARY
As we wrap up term 1, I’d like to extend a warm thank you to all our parents and carers for your support and engagement in our school community this term. We recognise and value the role that you play in your child’s education.
Our students have committed themselves to their learning and it is important for their confidence that collectively we acknowledge their application and effort. A question to reflect on, for us all, is What does success look like for you this term? The response will be different for all of us because success looks different for all of us. This is an important conversation to have with your child. Achievement is one of our CARES values and having these conversations regardless of age, acknowledges that achievement can be more than academic results.
Attendance at school everyday matters. This includes late arrivals and early departures. We understand that ‘life happens’, however when students are not at school, they are missing out on important learning time. Our school day of learning begins at 8:45am and finishes at 2:55pm.
Homework Centre year 4-6 students
From the beginning of term 2, the homework centre will be offered to year 4-6 students only.
Please contact the administration for more information about homework centre.
Bookings fill up quickly so set a reminder to secure a place.
Primary assemblies
This term, the weather has not been on our side for holding our Primary Assemblies. We are working on what future assemblies could look like that still allow student success to be celebrated, important messaging shared and CARES focus highlighted. We will keep you updated through email, text messaging and social media.
This week Ms Blackburn and I visited classrooms to hand out Student of the Week awards. We read the reasons for the awards and individually acknowledged each student.
When I practiced my GEMs for the day, what are you grateful for today? It was the privilege I had to celebrate these student successes and positive staff impact on student learning.
Have an enjoyable Easter break with your friends and family and we look forward to seeing you in term 2.
