FRENCH BILINGUAL PROGRAM
New French learning assistants
Last week we welcomed Amelie to our French Learning Assistant team. Amelie will be working with our Years 1 to 3 from Wednesday to Friday. We are very fortunate to now have Florence, Celine C and Amelie working with our Years 1 to 3 and Celine H working full-time with our Prep students. Learning assistants provide valuable in-class support for our students.
French Bilingual Teacher recruitment update
We are very pleased to welcome Mrs Elise Hilton to our French Bilingual teaching team. Elise will be working with 2/3FA on Thursdays and Fridays. Marine will remain on Tuesdays and Meka will continue for the English days on Mondays and Wednesdays.
These last 2 weeks, Elise has had the opportunity to come in and work with Marine and myself on planning for next term. She has met the class and joined in class activities to ensure that the students got to know her before the beginning of the term and to ensure a seamless transition.
We thank Veronique D’Ursel for her support and work with 2/3FA while we finalised the recruitment process.
Bilingual Puppet Show
Next term, we will welcome Carrousel theatre to our school with a bilingual puppet show ‘Le livre de la jungle’.
This incursion will be held on Friday 1 August in the ILC for our Prep to Year 3 FBP students.
QParents notifications have been sent to families earlier this term.
New resources from the FBP Voluntary Contributions
This week we have received our latest resource order which we were able to purchase thanks to your generous voluntary contributions.
This order included sets of books for our reading rotations, library books for our older readers and some high school teaching resources.

From the classrooms – Prep Maths rotations
As I walked through the Prep classroom this term, it was great to see the students engaged in their maths rotation activities. I was impressed by their independence, their engagement and their mathematical justifications. So much learning happens in the first semester of school, it is always amazing to see how quickly they settle in the school routine and become active learners.

Le Festival
Le Festival will be held at Southbank from July 4-6 this year.
